I did this piece in 2016 when I was in Kurdistan. This is just one of the many pieces I did when I was there. There is something special about painting when you are away from home/out of your comfort zone. I've noticed that all of the pieces I painted when I was there are full of emotions and very different form what I usually do. This piece is one of my favorites because it was the first time I attempted to paint a face. It is now with my good friend Rocan. She appreciates the arts so I gave it to her for her birthday. It was very hard to pick and choose the pieces that I wanted to bring back to the USA. I didn't have room for all of them. But the ones that I did leave are in good hands. I'm glad I have some artwork in the motherland.
